Lazio are interested in signing Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie but will face competition from Premier League club Southampton.

The Aquile have lined up the 24-year-old Dutch star as a potential replacement for Lucas Biglia if a deal with Real Madrid goes through. While, Southampton are also close to selling Morgan Schneiderlin, which could tempt them into making an offer for Clasie.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Feyenoord value Clasie at around the €15 million mark. It is being reported, that Lazio are currently slightly in advantage over their English rivals as they offer the lure of Champions League football for next season.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman was also Clasie’s head coach at Feyenoord, and with other former Eredivisie players such as Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic having already joined the South coast club, he could convince the young Dutchman to leave Rotterdam.

Clasie has been an integral part in the Feyenoord since joining from Excelsior. In his four year career at Feyenoord so far, he has collected 156 appearances in all competitions scoring eight goals in the process.
