Lazio are ready to end Fabio Borini’s unhappy spell with Liverpool in their quest for a new striker, having already ruled out a move for Pablo Osvaldo.

The Biancocelesti are keen to bring in another forward to play alongside Miroslav Klose and Filip Djordjevic as they prepare for a season in the Champions League and Borini has emerged as their preferred option.

Osvaldo was offered to the club by Southampton, but they were not convinced by the former Roma man according to Il Tempo. Borini was named as the club’s primary target to bolster their strike force.

It is also thought that Claudio Lotito is tempted to bring in former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato and is also evaluating a move for the Rossoneri’s out of contract Giampaolo Pazzini.
