pato sao pauloSerie A side Lazio are set to make a dramtic bid for Brazilian player Alexandre Pato as they look to add another striker to their squad.

With 37-year-old Miroslav Klose not getting any younger, the Biancocelesti are hoping to sign a quality forward that can play alongside and offer competition to Serbian Filip Djordjevic.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, an offer of around €8 million is being prepared for the Corinthians star who is currently on loan with rivals Sao Paulo. The story also suggests that the club is still trying to sign Liverpool’s Fabio Borini and Eder of Sampdoria but that Pato would be a very welcome addition to their squad.

Known as ‘the Duck’, the Brazil international has already had a relatively successful spell in Italy between 2007 and 2012 with the Rossoneri. During that time he hit 51 goals in 117 league appearances.
