Ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final, Juventus wing-back Stephan Lichtsteiner has stated that the Old Lady will carry no fear towards opponents Barcelona.
The Swiss defender has won trophies throughout his career, in his homeland with Grasshoppers Zurich and in Italy with Lazio as well as current club Juventus, experience which he believes is reflected across the Bianconeri squad.
“We bring respect, because Barcelona are strong,” Lichtsteiner told Tuttosport, “but as we did when we played Real Madrid in the semi-finals, we feel absolutely no fear.
“We are away from Turin but hope to play another great game as we did at the Bernabeu.”
Starting all 12 games in Europe this season, 31-year-old Lichtsteiner has been one of the first names on Massimiliano Allegri’s team sheet as the Bianconeri chase an unprecedented treble, and the defender believes that Juve have the right game plan to beat Barca.
“It’s not only about how we play in defence, but how we move and operate as a team.”
