Lichtsteiner - JuventusJuventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has said his side played well against Barcelona, but were a little unlucky in the game.

La Vecchia Signora were defeated 3-1 by the Spaniards in the final of the Champions League but Lichsteiner has said that the scoreline is not an accurate representation of the match because the Italian champions played a good game.

“We played a good game but unfortunately it did not go to plan, we are disappointed,” the 31-year-old told UEFA.com.

“We played well in the second half, stopping the excellence Barcelona had in the first.”

The Swiss international did say, however, that if some parts of their game had been worked on more, they would have had a better chance of victory.

“If we had improved on some aspects, it could have been a better result.”

Lichtsteiner wasn’t all negative though, saying that the team had a good season overall.

“We have had a really good season and it will be hard to repeat.”
