Manchester City have set a €35 million asking price for striker Edin Dzeko with Roma eyeing a move for the player.

The 29-year-old only signed a new four year contract with City last summer, but has been deemed surplus to requirements by the club.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Dzeko will be allowed to leave City in the summer, but only if a fee of €35m is agreed.

“I’m used to rumours,” Dzeko said when asked about links to other clubs. “I have three years left on my contract and I’m not thinking about anything else.

“Maybe the club will get an offer they cannot refuse, maybe I’ll get the desire to leave the club, maybe I won’t.

“I wasn’t happy not playing for City, but I trained as always and I was constantly ready for every match.

“I’m always there for the team.”

The former Wolfsburg striker arrived at the City of Manchester Stadium in 2011 and has gone on to make 185 appearances for the club, scoring 71 times.
