Serie B side Modena have unveiled their coach for the 2015-16 season, with Argentine Hernan Crespo taking the reins.

After securing their status only in a playoff with Virtus Entella, Modena relieved twin-coaches Mauro Melotti and Simone Pavan of their roles.

The Canarini revealed the appointment of Crespo, who has no first team coaching experience to date, on their website.

“Modena FC announce that they have hired Hernan Crespo as first team coach,” the statement read, “the Argentine has signed a contract for one season, with the option of two more.”

Crespo, who enjoyed spells with Inter, AC Milan and Parma as a player, had been cutting his coaching teeth with the Ducali, working with the Primavera side last season.

He takes over a Modena side who will be looking to improve on last season’s performance which saw them avoid relegation only in a playoff with Virtus Entella.
