Bee Taechaubol has insisted that the only club he wanted to invest in was AC Milan.

The Thai businessman, affectionately known as Mr Bee, has come to an agreement with Rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi to purchase 48 percent of Milan for around €470 million.

“Milan have a thoroughly Italian soul and identity,” Mr Bee said. “It’s a brand of Italian excellence, and it should remain that way.

“It would be absurd to see a skyboy filled with Asian Milan directors. Milan would then lose its identity.

“I’m not here to be the president. I’m an investor. Central figures like Galliani and Barbara Berlusconi will not be touched.

“Galliani has done a great job for Milan, even when he didn’t have a large budget.

“Berlusconi turned Milan into a great club, and Milan will always be connected to him.

“It’s not true that Berlusconi doesn’t care about Milan anymore. These negotiations show that he still cares.”

Looking at the finances of Milan and the €91m loss the club posted, Mr Bee was optimistic it would not be an obstacle.

“Financial problems can be overcome,” the Thai businessman went on. “The scheduling is more important.”

“I’m backed by strong financial institutions such as ADS from Abu Dhabi and China Citic. There won’t be any financial problems.

“The first meeting with Silvio Berlusconi took place on December 10 last year in Arcore.

“And then there were two meetings in January and March. We immediately had a good connection with each other.

“My motto is not to change, but to add and internationalise. Milan’s directors have to be Italian.

“We have to expand in Asia. Milan is synonymous with Italian football in the world, and the club can still grow business-wise.

“The Milan fans have to start dreaming again. The enthusiasm is gone now, but we can go back to winning a year from now.

“I think that we will close the deal with Milan in a few weeks’ time.

“A fan asked my why I chose Milan, and I responded ‘because it’s the greatest club’.”

“I would like to bring Milan back to the top by winning Serie A and the Champions League immediately.”
