After years of financial turmoil and weeks of auctions to find a new buyer for Parma, the former UEFA Cup winners have been declared officially bankrupt.

The Crociati were relegated from Serie A after finishing bottom in 2014/15 and were still able to save their status as a professional side until the deadline to register for Serie B passed in the last 48 hours, dumping the Ducali into the amateur league Serie D.

Now the Emilia-Romagna outfit have lost their final saving grace, with the final deadline for a new buyer passing at 1400 CET this Monday, and after the Corrado Group pulled out of a deal it became clear that no buyer could save the debt-ridden club; the bankruptcy was declared in a statement by judge Pietro Rogato: “The insolvency case for Parma FC SpA has not received any offer for the acquisition of the club.”

“In the next couple of hours the committee will meet to begin bankruptcy proceedings.”

In the coming days it will become clear if any group will be willing to take on the new Crociati, bringing them into amateur football just 15 years after they won the UEFA Cup.
