Parma Calcio 1913 will be the official name of the new Crociati now that their rebirth into the amateur league Serie D is expected to be confirmed after a takeover led by local multinational food producer Barilla.

The multi-billion euro company is based in the Emilia-Romagna city and president Guido Barilla will be the most noted shareholder in a group of eight financiers that includes former sponsor Parmalat and ex-Formula 1 team manager Gian Paolo Dallara.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that the official documents will be signed on Monday morning and that shares will be put on sale to the Gialloblu fans to own part of the new Parma to involve local people in reviving the Ducali, who recently collapsed into bankruptcy after spending 2014/15 bottom of Serie A.

Furthermore, former coach Nevio Scala, who led the Crociati to numerous honours including the UEFA Cup in the late 1990s, is expected to take up the position of club president.

With the registration deadline for Serie D edging closer it appears Parma will now be able to compete as a football club in 2015/16.
