Former Italy and Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli is seeking a return to the sidelines, claiming he would not back down from any challenge regardless of the difficulty.

The 57-year old veteran coach was sacked by Galatasaray five months into his tenure last November and the former Italian national team coach has been without a club or prospects ever since.

“I want a challenge, even an impossible one but no one has sought me out,” Prandelli stated while speaking to Sportmediaset.

“I would like to return to the field and help a squad grow. I have a lot of desire. I don’t believe in projects, as that is a term that is overused, but in challenges.”

Prandelli reflected on his turbulent Turkish adventure, admitting that a move to Galatasaray after leaving his Italy post was a mistake.

“Galatasaray was a mistake. [President Unal] Aysal was a visionary who talked to me about creating a European academy at the club, but then he resigned and when the new leadership came in everything changed.”
