Leonardo Bonucci JuventusSpanish giants Real Madrid are preparing a bid for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci as contract talks have stalled.

The Italian international is contracted to the Bianconeri until 2017 but both parties are seeking an extension which would keep the 28-year-old at the club until 2019.

However Calcionews24.com reports that there is a significant gulf between the player and the club as Bonucci has requested an annual salary of €4 million while Juve have offered €3m.

Such wage demands are unlikely to deter Los Merengues as new coach Rafael Benitez looks to replace Sergio Ramos and an offer in the region of €30m could be enough to prise the centre-back away from La Vecchia Signora.

Bonucci made 52 appearances in all competitions during the 2014/15 season as Juventus won the domestic double before a spirited defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League final.

Juventus are likley to approach Bayern Munich and ex-Roma defender Mehdi Benatia should they lose one half of a defensive partnership that conceded just 24 goals in Serie A last season.
