Leonardo Bonucci JuventusReal Madrid’s interest in Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has reportedly caused a delay in the player’s negotiations to sign a contract renewal with the Old Lady.

The 28-year-old, whose current deal with the Bianconeri is set to expire in June 2017, has been steadily linked with a possible move to Los Blancos in recent weeks and it seems like the Spanish giants are on the verge of making a very serious offer for his services.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus remain ready to extend the Italian international’s contract until 2019, though talks for a renewal have stalled now that Real Madrid are apparently prepared to sign him on a four-year deal worth €30 million.

Reports suggest that the Turin giants are keeping a close watch on Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia in case of Bonucci’s departure and would be ready to bring the former Roma man back to Italy as soon as possible if necessary.

The centre back managed to score three goals in his 34 Serie A appearances for Juve last term.
