Fiorentina defender Micah Richards has revealed that joining Inter may be an option for him this summer as he searches for more continuity ahead of the 2015-16 season.

The 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at the Viola from Manchester City and will be without a club at the end of June, has admitted that he’s enjoyed his time in Italy thus far but was hoping to earn more minutes on the pitch, which is why he would consider reuniting with former coach Roberto Mancini at the Nerazzurri if the opportunity were to arrive.

Richards spoke to the Daily Mail about his experience in Italy and the possibility of him signing with Inter, while also commenting on his objective to earn a place in the England national team once again.

“I wanted to leave City to play with continuity, so when the opportunity arrived for me to come to Florence I also wanted to refute the idea that English players don’t play abroad,” said the Englishman.

“I don’t want to disrespect any of my team-mates but I think that I should have played a bit more.

“When I spoke with Fiorentina I was told that I would play, then the training changed and I was not given a big enough role. It’s too bad because I settled in well here.

“The Premier League is fantastic but the best season I had there was while Mancini was at City and now he is at Inter, so that may be an option.

“My next transfer will be decisive because I’ll be pushing to regain my place in the England national team.”
