alexandre lacazette lyonRoma have turned their attention to Olympique Lyonnais forward Alexandre Lacazette as they look to fortify their attack ahead of the next Serie A campaign.

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko had previously been heavily touted to join his compatriot Miralem Pjanic in the Eternal City, though it now seems the club has shifted their priorities as they reportedly hold a greater desire to capture the services of Lacazette instead.

Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has made the arrival of a top class forward the club’s number one priority this summer, and Corriere della Sera reports that the Frenchman Lacazette could be in line for an imminent approach.

His age, technical ability and his considerably low wage demands are all factors reported to be the key reasons as to why Sabatini holds the player in higher regard than Dzeko, though a high fee of €30 million is required to spark a potential deal.

A move for Dzeko is likely to be put on hold in light of the pursuit of the heavily talented French forward, though Roma still remain keen on the Bosnian.

Lacazette finished on top of the scoring charts in the French league with 27 goals to his name.
