Midfielder Miralem Pjanic has publicly called on countryman Edin Dzeko, forward for English side Manchester City, to join him at Roma.

Dzeko, a known target of the Giallorossi’s, has been rumoured to leave the Etihad Stadium after the Bosnian has struggled for minutes this season, and could now be tempted to join compatriot Pjanic in Rome after the midfielder made a public call praising the striker’s abilities and his desire to play alongside him at the club.

“I speak to Dzeko often and we talk alot about our respective teams,” the midfielder said, speaking in an interview to Roma Channel.

“He’s had a difficult season but he’s a really strong player with so many good qualities.

“Dzeko’s a goalscorer that can give so much for his club and national team, just look at how good he has done for any team that he has played for, he has won a great deal.

“I would love to have him play here with me.”

Financially, Dzeko is regarded as an achievable target by the Romans, despite his wage which stands at €7 million per season.
