Roma could hijack Marseille’s projected move for Monaco winger Lucas Ocampos.
The 20-year-old Argentinian youth international spent the second half of the season on loan Marseille, and did enough to warrant the French giants to want to keep him on for at least another season.
L’Equipe report that Marseille have made an offer to renew Ocampos’ loan for another 12 months, to which Monaco are currently contemplating.
Roma director Walter Sabatini however is a keen admirer of the player as well, and could offer a permanent deal that could sway Monaco who would prefer to get Ocampos off their books completely.
Developments are expected in the coming weeks, and Ocampos, who was close to Fiorentina in January, could finally make the switch to the Serie A.
Ocampos netted two goals in 14 games for Marseille this season.
