Massimo Ferrero, president of Sampdoria, has revealed his desire to convince Mario Balotelli of donning the Blucerchiati shirt, while discussing the possibilities of buying Roma from its current owners.

With Samp having been granted a chance to play in Europe next season after city rivals Genoa withdrew their UEFA licence appeal, Ferrero has begun to write a list of names in order to strengthen his squad which includes bad-boy Balotelli.

The striker, known for his sometimes outrageous stunts on and off the field, has had a hard time trying to re-adapt to life in the English Premier League with Liverpool, subsequently attracting the interest of Ferrero.

“There is certainly the idea of bringing in Balotelli, especially if we want to play in Europe,” Ferrero told Corriere Mercantile.

“But who knows, I want to surprise you.

In addition to his aspirations, the Italian entrepreneur even has his eyes set on potentially buying Roma.

“Maybe,” he began

“I like the idea of being able buy Roma but the only problem is I don’t think it’s for sale right now.

Ferrero who was born in Rome could be tempted to make a bid in the future as he is known to have grown up following the Giallorossi, stating: “I have a Blucerchiati heart but my head is with Roma.”
