Sampdoria are reportedly monitoring Ecuador forward Enner Valencia from English Premier League side West Ham United.
The 25-year-old only moved to the Hammers last summer, but has so far yet to live up to his immense potential.
The Daily Mail report Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is keeping tabs on Valencia, after the East London outfit inquired about signing highly rated Blucerchiati midfielder Pedro Obiang.
However, a deal appears unlikely given West Ham value the former Pachuca man at over €30 million.
The Ecuadorian international has been selected to represent his national team in the 2015 Copa America which is due to start on June 11.
Valencia netted four goals and assisted a further four in 32 league appearances during the 2014-15 campaign, in which the Hammers finished the season in 13th.
