Luigi Di Biagio ItalyFIGC president Carlo Tavecchio has revealed that Antonio Conte will decide Luigi Di Biagio’s future as coach of the Italy Under 21 side.

The Azzurrini slumped to a disappointing group stage exit at the European Under-21 Championship, casting doubt over the future of the former Inter and Roma player as coach of the youth side.

“We will first speak with Conte,” Tavecchio told reporters.

“He is in charge of all levels of the national team and we will wait for his indications before deciding.”

Italy were eliminated from the group stage despite finishing level with finalists Sweden on four points, but were eliminated after falling to the Blagult 2-1 in their opening encounter.

Di Biagio has been at the helm of the Italy Under 21 side since July 2013. He previously coached the Italy Under 20 side from 2011 to 2013.
