Torino defender Cristian Molinaro has signed a contract extension, following the Granata’s impressive 2014-15 season.

Torino ended ninth in Serie A last season, but more notably reached the Round of 16 of the Europa League after their impressive defeat of Athletic Club the round prior.

Torino announced the 31-year-old’s contract renewal via the club’s official website, triggering the clause allowing them to extend his deal.

Molinaro arrived in the summer of 2014 from Parma, signing a year-long deal, following a disappointing Bundesliga stint with Stuttgart that had precipitated his Serie A return. The Italian defender featured 34 times in all competitions for the Granata last season, scoring once.
