Wolfsburg midfielder happy to be in Italy squad

Caligiuri - ItalyWolfsburg midfielder Daniel Caligiuri has said he is happy to be part of the Italy squad.

The 27-year-old was named a one of two players to make their debut in the national squad that coach Antonio Conte revealed, with the other being Nicola Sansone, for the upcoming European Championship qualifier against Croatia and the friendly against Portugal.

“I am very happy to be here and I thank the coach,”Caligiuri told the press.

“I will do everything I can to remain as a national team player in the future.”

Caligiuri also said that he looks forward to being taught new things with the rest of the squad, and that a national appearance for his country was an ambition of his.

“I think I can learn new things while I am here,” the German-born midfielder said.

“This was a dream of mine and I’ve made it.”
