Mexes - AC MilanFrench centre back Philippe Mexes is set to extend his stay at AC Milan, as the club is ready to offer the player a new deal.

The former Roma defender’s current contract is set to expire this summer, leaving Mexes free to negotiate with other teams should the Rossoneri decide against retaining his services at the Stadio Meazza.

However, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the France international will sign a new deal over the coming days, keeping him at the San Siro for the foreseeable future.

The 33-year-old, renowned for his fiery temperament, moved to Milan in 2011 after a successful stint with Serie A rivals Roma. He has since gone on to appear 78 times in the league for his current club, getting himself on the score sheet on four occasions.
