AC Milan forward officially completes Monaco move

Monaco have officially completed the signing of AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy after he successfully passed his medical on Monday.

The 22-year-old has had an injury riddled two years for the Rossoneri, only featuring in 28 matches after scoring 16 league goals in the 2012/13 season.

The Ligue 1 side have reportedly signed the Italian on an initial loan for €3 million with the mandatory option to buy at €15m.

“It was not an easy decision, but I needed a new experience,” El Shaarawy stated soon after putting pen to paper on a a new contract.

“I still have to achieve everything, I had to make a decision in 24 hours and it was not easy. I am happy and calm as I think this was the right decision for my career.

“Monaco are a great reality and I have confidence I will have a great season. I think this can be a turning point.

“I want to thank the president and all of Monaco for their faith and I hope to repay them. The objective remains the national team, as there is the European Championship.”
