Milan are set to increase their offer to PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as they seek to stave off competition from city rivals Inter.

The Milanese clubs have already gone head-to-head in the transfer window this summer with the Nerazzurri signing French international Geoffrey Kondogbia after Milan were rumoured to be interested in the player.

According to Tuttosport, it is Inter’s pressing that has forced Milan to raise their salary offer to Ibrahimovic from €6 million a year to €7.5m.

Meanwhile the French club are still holding out for a bid of around €5.5m to prize their star man away from the Parc des Princes.

The 33-year-old is held in high regard by both sets of fans. After transferring from Juventus in 2006, Ibra scored 66 goals in 117 appearances for the Nerazzurri helping them to clinch three consecutive scudetti.

In 2010, Ibra came back to Milan, this time joining the Rossoneri, after a brief spell at Barcelona. The Swede won another scudetto and scored 58 goals in 85 games for Milan before being sold to the Parisian club.
