AC Milan reject Newcastle approach for striker

M'baye Niang - AC MilanSerie A side AC Milan have said they will not sell forward M’baye Niang with English Premier League outfit Newcastle reportedly having had a bid turned down.

The Frenchman impressed in the second half of last season on loan at Genoa where he managed to perform consistently scoring a reasonable five goals in 12 starts.

According to the Evening Chronicle, Newcastle have had a €7 million bid rejected by the Rossoneri who are looking to keep Niang at Milan, despite already signing strikers Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano.

The 20-year-old, who can play out wide as well as in attack, was signed by the Stadio Meazza club from Ligue 1 side Caen in 2012.

During his time at Milan, Niang has also had a loan spell at Montpellier where he managed to score four goals in 16 appearances.
