AC Milan sign former Parma starlet

AC Milan have announced the signing of former Parma midfielder Jose Mauri, with the player agreeing a four-year contract.

Mauri heavily impressed last year under the now bankrupt Ducali, leading him to be linked to join the Rossoneri ever since becoming a free agent.

The move for the 19-year-old has now been confirmed, with Mauri arriving in Milan to pen a deal that will see him stay until 2019.

The deal was made official on Milan’s website, with the player additionally announcing his sheer delight at being able to join the club.

“I am very happy to be here and it’s a dream come true,” Mauri said, speaking to reporters.

“They [AC Milan] are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“In fact one of my heroes in football is [former AC Milan player] Gennaro Gattuso.

“[Adriano] Galliani called me while I was in Argentina and convinced me to join. It was an extremely important call.

“Am I ready for this challenge? I was born ready.”

Mauri played 33 games last season for Parma and scored two goals.
