The AC Milan hierarchy received much-awaited positive news, with Fondazione Fiera giving the green light for their stadium plans.

AC Milan had submitted plans for a new 48,000 capacity stadium in the Portello region, in the north of the city, awaiting on Fondazione Fiera’s decision on whether they had accepted the Rossoneri bid to develop the new arena on their site.

Due to the arrival of a rival bid, the decision had been delayed; but after six months of negotiations and administrative jousting, the AC Milan hierarchy have come out the winners.

Gazzetta.it confirmed that AC Milan have beaten out the rival bid from the Vitali Group, by increasing their own from €3.5 million per year over 50 years to €3.95 million per year.

Fondazione Fiera’s decision now makes the Rossoneri’s plans for a new stadium all the more concrete, as more news on the project should be due to arrive in the future.
