AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has paid tribute to the outgoing Stephan El Shaarawy, as the forward joins Monaco.
The Italian ended a four-year stay with the Rossoneri with his move to France, which took many by surprise with how quickly the transaction occurred.
“AC Milan wish to thank you for the dedication and commitment that you have always given to this shirt, and for the goals you scored for the Rossoneri,” Galliani stated on Milan’s official website.
“We wish you every success for the rest of your career, with your club and the shirt of the national team. Stephan, we wish you good luck!”
El Shaarawy meanwhile has selected the number 22 shirt at the principality side, explaining his reasoning behind his decision.
“I chose it because it is the shirt of my idol Kaka. I could not choose another number.”
