Parma 0 Empoli 2 Antonio CassanoBologna are set to make an ambitious approach for former Parma playmaker Antonio Cassano and Fiorentina’s attacking midfielder Josep Ilicic.

The Rossoblu earned promotion to Serie A via the playoffs and are looking to add creative talent with proven top flight pedigree in order to re-establish themselves as a force in Italy’s top flight.

Calcionews24 reports that a meeting is scheduled between Bologna’s director of sport Pantaleo Corvino, and Cassano’s agent, Beppe Bozzo.

Meanwhile, Sport Mediaset are reporting Josep Ilicic could also be on his way to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara if the Viola accept a €7 million offer for the Slovenian international.

Cassano would sign on a free transfer following his release from Parma, however it is believed that ‘Fantantonio’ is hoping for a return to former club Sampdoria, and will not confirm a deal until he receives an answer from the Blucerchiati.

The Italian international provided 17 goals and 10 assists in 53 games in his two seasons at the Crociati, while a late flourish saw Ilicic finish last season as Fiorentina’s top scorer with ten goals.
