Napoli winger Jose Callejon is thought to be in high demand this summer, with Arsenal and Chelsea both chasing the player.
A number of English Premier League teams are also believed to be interested in the 28-year-old with Chelsea thought to be preparing a bid of £15.5 million.
But according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Arsenal are ready to beat Chelsea to the ex-Real Madrid forward as Arsene Wenger is ready to make a firm offer.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also reportedly tracked Callejon during this summer transfer window.
The Spaniard, who is able to play as an attacking midfielder or forward, scored 11 goals in Serie A last season as Napoli finished fifth and failed to qualify for the Champions League.
