Arsenal offer for Napoli striker not enough

Gonzalo Higuain NapoliArsenal have been told to up their bid for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain if they want to sign him this summer, according to reports in Italy.

The striker’s miserable season continued into the Copa America where he was unfortunate to miss a late normal time chance against Chile in the final before fluffing his lines in the penalty shootout – in a similar fashion to the final game of the season against Lazio.

According to Gazzetta.it, the Gunners will need to offer more than the €60 million on the table with the Partenopei in their attempts to lure the Argentina international to the English capital but Napoli are adamant that they want the player to remain.

That is evidenced by president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ €94.7m demands for the former Real Madrid striker if he were to leave the San Paolo although the player is believed to be keen on playing Champions League football.

But with Arsenal unwilling to go higher than €60m and Napoli steadfast in their refusal to entertain such an offer, if he is to leave for a club in Europe’s premier competition, it seems unlikely at present to be Arsene Wenger’s side.

One attacker who does look like he could be on his way out of Italy though is Spanish forward Jose Callejon who does not fit into Maurizio’s Sarri’s plans. Atletico Madrid are interested in the player and although Napoli have set an asking price of €20m for him, it is thought they would entertain an offer of €15m.

Rubbish speculation. No way Wenger will spend that kind of money on a player of that quality.

all know that A.Wenger does not bow to others ideas of what a “great” footballer is. He always bides his time and never rushes. whatever is written in papers never darkens his doors. he has remained top of the pile because of this. In Wenger we trust

Arsenal should stick to their guns .Gonzalo Higuain will not get them than €60m especially after his weak performances at Copa America . With this amount of money Arsenal can get the best of world class strikers .
