Atletico Madrid have reportedly entered the race for Inter’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
The 23-year-old Swiss forward, who made 15 Serie A appearances last season, has already been the subject of a bid from Stoke City, but now could be on his way to the Spanish capital.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Diego Simeone has been a big fan of Shaqiri since his time at Basel and Atletico are currently on the market for a replacement for the departing Arda Turan.
The Rojiblancos, are also looking at Carlos Vela and Santi Cazorla. However, it is thought Atleti’s interest in Shaqiri is still very strong.
Shaqiri moved on loan to Inter in January with a view to a permanent deal this summer. However, Shaqiri now looks set to leave the Stadio Meazza after just six months, as Inter look to create further funds for alternative signings.
