Swiss champions Basel have completed the signing of Inter midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic on a five-year deal, a statement read on their official website.
The 27-year-old Serbian international has spent the last two and a half years with the Nerazzurri after joining from Stuttgart, but struggled to ever establish himself as a starter during that stint.
The move to the Swiss champions represents a return for the midfielder, who started his career at the club before moving onto Fiorentina in 2007.
A statement on the club’s official website confirmed the deal, stating that the player had signed on until 2020 and will wear the jersey number 22.
“I always wanted to return to Basel and I am happy that the deal was concluded quickly. I am motivated and ambitious, I hope to contribute to the team,” Kuzmanovic said upon his unveiling.
Kuzmanovic made 55 appearances for the Nerazzurri during his time in the Serie A, netting a single goal.
