Eduardo Vargas Queens Park RangersMarseille boss Marcelo Bielsa has requested the services of out-of-favor Napoli striker Eduardo Vargas.

The 25-year-old Chilean international spent an unsuccessful loan spell at Queens Park Rangers last term, but enjoyed an impressive Copa America triumph with his nation last month.

Vargas has one year left on his current deal at Napoli, and the Serie A side would rather sell him now than lose him on a free transfer in under 12 months time.

Sport Mediaset report that Bielsa wants to bring the fiery forward to the Ligue 1, and knows the striker well after handing him his international debut in 2010.

Vargas has already rejected an offer from Qatar this summer, as his preference is to stay in Europe, and Marseille could be the most suitable destination for the player.

The Chilean scored four league goals in 21 matches for QPR last season.
