Newly promoted Bologna have completed the signing of goalkeeper Antonio Mirante, following his release from Parma.

The 31-year-old became a free agent after the Ducali were confirmed bankrupt at the end of last season.

Mirante joins after an impressive season despite the Crociati’s off-field problems, and offers a wealth of experience after spells with Juventus, Siena and Sampdoria before joining Parma permanently in June 2010.

The talented shot-stopper was also a strong figure in the Gialloblu dressing room last season, speaking on behalf of his fellow teammates on numerous occasions.

On August 8, 2010, Mirante received his first senior call-up to the Italy national team set-up but has yet to appear for the Azzurri.
