Serie A newcomers Carpi have reportedly approached Liverpool regarding their striker Fabio Borini.
The Italian had a ineffectual 2014-15 season at Liverpool last year scoring just one goal in 12 matches and Borini has since been offered to Leicester City and Aston Villa, as the signing of both Christian Benteke and Danny Ings has pushed him further down the pecking order at Anfield.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Liverpool have been contacted by Carpi who now await a response for their ambitious bid.
It will be interesting to see whether the club and player take this approach seriously, as Borini has expressed his desire to return to his native Italy.
However, he hasn’t received much concrete interest from other Italian clubs, suggesting that a move to Carpi may be the sole way for him to satisfy his desire of returning home.
All in all, the striker is almost certain to leave Liverpool this summer, it is only a question of where his destination will be.
