Mohamed Salah aims to stay in Serie A despite his controversial refusal of a return to Fiorentina, according to the player’s agent.

The Viola had agreed a €1 million extension of the Egyptian’s initial five-month loan deal from Chelsea to keep him at the club for the whole of next season.

However, the player has since vetoed the move in preference for a challenge elsewhere, sparking possible legal action against him due to Fiorentina’s belief that the deadline had already passed for Salah himself to turn down the opportunity.

“I can’t say too much, the only thing I can say is that he belongs to Chelsea,” said agent Ramy Abbas in an interview with Sport Italia.

“There are a few Italian teams following him, but also several foreign clubs.

“Inter, Roma or any other team that wants him will need to speak with Chelsea.

“He has every intention of staying in Italy, if he does leave Chelsea.

“But certainly not to Fiorentina. The option to stay in Florence is no longer a valid one.”

It’s believed both Juventus and AC Milan also hold an interest in the player’s services, following several impressive performances during the 26 appearances he made in all competitions for the Gigliati last term.
