Versatile Juventus defender Federico Mattiello has signed a loan deal to return to Serie A side Chievo.
The 19-year-old made two appearances for the Bianconeri before joining the Gialloblu in January, where he could only muster three outings for the Flying Donkeys before suffering a double leg break from a reckless Radja Nainggolan tackle when taking on Roma in March.
Details of the move include Chievo’s right to permanently sign Mattiello, who will initially join the Venetians on a season-long loan deal.
Tuscan defender Mattiello will return to the Stadio Marco Bentegodi as the Gialloblu look to push on from last season’s 14th-place finish in Serie A, with coach Rolando Maran steadying the ship in October but unable to prevent Chievo from finishing the season as the lowest scorers in Italy’s top-flight.
