Xherdan Shaqiri InterEverton are reportedly interested in the services of Inter midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, as his proposed switch to Schalke appears to have stalled.

The Merseyside club are hoping to succeed where fellow English Premier League outfit Stoke City failed earlier this summer in securing the sought-after signature of the Swiss international.

As revealed by television broadcasters Sportitalia, Shaqiri’s agent is yet to arrange a meeting with Bundesliga side Schalke which has allowed Everton the possibility of making an approach over the coming days.

Calcio News 24 also suggests that it now seems almost certain that the out-of-favour 23-year-old will complete a transfer away from Serie A in the near future.

They state that Schalke’s best offer to date is worth €13 million, as they try to tempt the Nerazzurri into a sale, but the Milanese club are insisting upon a fee of €17 million before letting him go.
