The father of former Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has been arrested after local police in Chile found him transporting highly illegal drugs.

Erasmo Vidal was stopped by police in the small settlement of La Victoria in Santiago, upon which he was found to be in possession of three bags of cocaine and two large kitchen knives.

According to Calcionews24.com, the Police had been observing the 54-year-old during the day due to his suspicious movements, and later detained him after they found the drugs and weapons.

Mister Vidal, however, was later released after just four hours in custody, as reports suggest the amount of drugs he was carrying wase only deemed enough for personal consumption.

This is not the first time that Arturo Vidal’s father has been in trouble with the police, as he was charged back in 2011 for selling drugs.
