Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero had harsh words to share with Catania president Antonino Pulvirenti, after the latter confessed to match fixing.

Pulvirenti was one of seven men arrested by the police on June 23 for sport fraud.

Following interrogation, the Catania president admitted to fixing five Serie B matches in order to help his club avoid relegation.

Ferrero was uncompromising in his stance on the 53-year-old’s actions, condemning him for the scandal that has come to light.

“I know of Pulvirenti and I think he should be expelled from football,” Ferrero said on La Zanzara.

“Some people make me sick and he should never be allowed in football again.

“It is not just about locking him up; he must die. It is finished, he should no longer exist.”

Catania finished 15th in the 2014-15 Serie B campaign, two points above the relegation play-off places.

The club’s survival was helped by a run of five wins between March 29 and April 24 and investigators allege at least four of those wins were fixed, along with a draw on May 2.

Pulvirenti had previously protested his innocence in the ‘Goal Trains’ scandal, but admitted to paying €100,000 in bribes for each of the matches in question.
