Vucinic - JuventusWith Mario Gomez reportedly on his way out of Tuscany for the Turkish side Besiktas, Fiorentina are now looking for a replacement for the German striker.

La Viola’s first choice is expected to be Mattia Destro, however, Fiorentina are considering alternatives and one of these is the former Juventus and Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.

La Nazione are reporting that although there has been no official contact between Fiorentina and Vucinic’s current club Al Jazira, the Montenegrin international is unhappy in Abu Dhabi and would welcome a return to Italy, where he spent almost the entirety of his career.

The 2014-15 UAE Arabian Gulf League season was Vucinic’s first with Al Jazira after leaving Juve for a reported fee of €6 million and he scored 25 goals from 23 appearances.

Previously he played for Lecce, Roma and Juventus, scoring a total of 101 goals in Serie A.

Vucinic won the Scudetto three times with the Old Lady, the Coppa Italia twice with Roma and the Supercoppa Italiana twice with the Bianconeri and once with the Giallorossi.
