Fiorentina have failed in their bid to sign Tottenham Hostpur defender Vlad Chiriches, with the Romanian set to complete a move to Turkey.

The Romanian signed for the North London club from Steaua Bucharest two years ago but has failed to nail down a consistent starting spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s team, leading to the Viola’s interest.

Offering a loan deal with the right to permanently sign the 25-year-old, Fiorentina were rebuffed by Spurs and after further unsuccessful talks between player and the Tuscan club, Tuttomercatoweb report that the deal has collapsed.

Spurs have set a €10 million asking price on Chiriches, barely making a profit on the former Roma target, and now the centre-back looks set for a transfer to Turkey with Galatasaray waiting in the wings.

New Gigliati boss Paulo Sousa has lost central defender Stefan Savic to Atletico Madrid during the first few weeks of his tenure, but has sealed the signatures of promising Brazilian right-back Gilberto and Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez in return for Savic.
