Former AC Milan attacking midfielder Rivaldo has made history as both he and his son were on the score sheet in the same match.

The World Cup winner is president of Brazilian Serie B side Mogi Mirim and recently came out of retirement to aid the faltering team, of which his son Rivaldinho is on the books. The pair combined in a league fixture against Macae to secure a 3-1 victory, with the 20-year-old Rivaldinho scoring a brace.

The win lifted Mogi Mirim off the foot of the table and Rivaldo was thrilled to be able to make history. Speaking to reporters after the final whistle, the former Barcelona star claimed: “I am very happy to see my name on the scoresheet alongside that of my son.”

The club, based in the state of Sao Paulo, are unbeaten since 43-year-old Rivaldo returned to action for them and will hope to stave off relegation after a difficult start to the season.
