Szczesny arsenalNew Roma signing Wojciech Szczesny has admitted that it was an easy decision to join the Giallorossi from Arsenal.

The 25-year-old signed for the Serie A runners-up on a season-long loan deal on Wednesday and has since expressed his delight at having joined one of the ‘biggest clubs in Europe’.

“It was an easy decision to join Roma,” said the Polish International during his presentation press conference.

“Roma are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I’ve come here to show what I can do, improve and compete in a very difficult domestic competition, as well as the Champions League.

“This will be a great experience that everyone would love to have. Any player would be extremely proud to come here.”

Szczesny has also discussed his new goalkeeping team-mate Morgan De Sanctis and how the 38-year-old is to help him learn Italian.

“Here they speak Italian so it is important for me learn it quickly,” he added.

“I hope to build a strong relationship with my team-mates so we can have a great season together.

He continued: “I have spoken with De Sanctis and he said that he speaks English so he will be helping me. He is a great goalkeeper and I hope there will be healthy competition between us both.”

Lastly, the former Arsenal man has also revealed his passion for football and that he hopes his extrovert personality will make a good impression upon the Roma fans.

“I am very passionate about football and from what I have seen, the supporters here are also the same.”

“I like to celebrate when we win and I get angry when we lose, just like the fans do.

“I expect to have a good relationship with them.”
