Inter striker Mauro Icardi says he is very happy with the player’s the club have brought in so far this summer, as he wants the Nerazzurri to get back to winning trophies next season.

The 22-year-old committed himself to a new four-year contract in early June, which will see the Argentine tied-down with the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side until June 2019, and he is confident the club are doing what is necessary to get back to winning after a flurry of transfer activity thus far.

“Inter have decided to take a big leap this summer and sign some top players,” the striker told Inter Channel regarding the signings of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Miranda, Jeison Murillo and Martin Montoya.

“It’s a few years since the club has won anything, and we want to get back to playing in the Champions League.

“This is our goal for next season, and it’s what we all want.

“Thanks to the players we have brought in, we will have a very competitive squad.

“Last year was a very important year for me, and I was delighted to commit my future and stay with Inter.

“Now I want to see us win and fight for titles and finish as high as possible in the league.”

The former Sampdoria forward has been a big success since his move from the Blucerchiati to the Milan giants in 2013, netting 31 goals in 58 appearances in Serie A.
