The father of Inter transfer target Gianelli Imbula has heavily criticised the Italian club for their way of attempting to do a deal for the player this summer.

Despite being closely linked with a move for the midfielder, the 22-year-old eventually opted to join Porto from Marseille – after growing frustrated with the Nerazzurri.

His father Willy Ndangi told Journal di Dimanche: “I was very interested in a move to Inter for him. They are a huge club who have put an ambitious project in place. But we waited in vain for Roberto Mancini to speak with Gianelli.

“For four days we did not hear anything or get any signs of life from the Nerazzurri. Their system makes me sick. They only woke up when they learned of the interest from Porto and their intermediaries sent messages with threats.”

Ndangi also insisted that his son has no link to the Doyen Sports Group, saying his contract is his own and that he is “the master of his own destiny” in relation to that.
