In their attempts to sign Atletico Madrid winger Alessio Cerci, Inter may be forced into a swap deal involving midfielder Fredy Guarin.
The current transfer window has been an expensive one for the Nerazzurri, with Geoffrey Kondogbia’s arrival from AS Monaco costing the club a fee in the region of €35 million.
According to Tuttosport, coach Roberto Mancini is seeking a new winger to improve Inter’s attacking options, with Wolfsburg remaining stout over their demands for Croatian Ivan Perisic, the Biscione have turned their attention to a cut-price deal for former Torino winger Cerci that would likely involve Guarin as a make-weight.
27-year-old Cerci underwhelmed for both the La Liga side and AC Milan during the last campaign and the Rojiblancos would consider a deal, bringing in the inconsistent but capable-of-spectacular Colombian Guarin in return.
It is understood that this deal would be on a loan basis, allowing both clubs to reinforce key areas with little impact on the restricted budgets of either team.
