Italian giants Inter could have the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza renovated if The Executive Committee of Fondazione Fiera Milano approve of the project.

The Nerazzurri currently share the San Siro with rivals AC Milan and the Rossoneri intend to have their own stadium built in the Portello district, which would hold 48,000 people. The Milan City Council also do not want to leave the stadium without a tenant by 2019-20 and have it abandoned.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the capacity of the Meazza will be reduced from 80,000 to 60,000 because of the lowering of the roof and the removal of the third tier.

A lot will depend on the decision made by The Executive Committee of Fondazione Fiera Milano, who will meet with AC Milan on Monday afternoon to give the approval to use the land at Portello, which is owned by the foundation.

Both teams will meet on Tuesday with the assessor of Sport di Milano Chiara Bisconti to reveal the details of their plans.
